A Nice Email from Scott "Tox" Morris
I felt like sharing about a very nice email I recently received from Scott Morris of Crits Happen with his impressions of Draconis Invasion. He played version 1.1 and really enjoyed it. It made my day to get these comments from him:
"The campaign cards are superb, SUPERB mechanic! We had so much fun with these, both trying to obtain them, but also head faking our opponents to think we were after something specific when we weren’t so they’d leave other things alone. These are a great idea, almost like quests, and I can’t believe someone hasn’t done more with this type of thing in a deck builder. Kudos on this one."
"The Terror die/card mechanic is really cool, we all liked that a lot, from the beginning of the game, to during gameplay, it all felt very “tense” due to that and it was a refreshing mechanic for a deck builder."
"The Starting Threat Level is really cool too. This added a nice amount of stress to the game, that made even a replay with the same cards feel different."
"Simple icons… thank you, thank you, thank you! As a designer and someone who publishes games, this is SO important on SO many levels. Well done with these."
"Beautiful artwork, the game is gorgeous."
"The Terror die/card mechanic is really cool, we all liked that a lot. It was a refreshing mechanic for a deck builder."
For anyone out there who designs games or creates stuff, I'm sure you know how nerve-racking it can be to receive feedback from respected people in your industry. This email was very encouraging, so I thought I'd share :)

For the past few months I've been developing some fun new party games. Here is a video of a concept I playtested at Toronto's recent Play & Pub event. More exciting news on this game coming soon!

Announcing Version 1.1
We have something new and improved, called Version 1.1. This will be part of the future game releases. Thanks to all the playtesters and friends that helped make these changes. They are minor changes but I recommend you all play this 1.1 version. Check and try out the updated rules and PNP reference card, available here: bit.ly/DraconisInvasion-Rules
1. Fixed the potential misunderstanding in the rule book: The STARTING THREAT LEVEL only occurs once, at the start, and is never used again during that game.
2. To save on PNP printer ink, the main difference in the updated v1.1 rules:
- A-BCDE-F, where E and F are new, allowing the option to ELIMINATE/TRASH exactly 1 card from your hand on your turn. Then you may always end your turn with the option to FORWARD exactly 1 unused Gold card to the top of your deck.
- For a 2-player game, the game INCLUDES Casualty of War, and it ends when the Retreat card is revealed OR a player kills 9 Invaders.

Online Beta Expansion?
We are considering a free beta Print-N-Play "teaser" Expansion Pack. The goal is to get some feedback on some of our new elements on BGG, while allowing our fans to play with new cards and get a taste of our new cards/mechanics. Is this a good idea? Let us know. https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/1739844/pnp-beta-expansions-and-variants
